Poetry
’62 Valiant (in memory of brother Jeff)
Only the Valiant will try to seek
In winter storms and summer heat
The biggest waves, the longest set
From sunrise until the sun has set
’62 Valiant with a wooden rack
A six foot board and a piece of wax
A chrome key and a tank of gas
No job, no school, and a little cash
The Valiant takes the Coast Highway
Sometimes stopping to check some spots
From Mexico to Santa Cruz
In search of waves that must be caught
’62 Valiant with a jukebox dash
Oxidized paint faded black
Slant-6 engine and a tank of gas
No job, no school, and a little cash
At home the Valiant takes a rest
Overlooking the Point where waves are best
Where surfers ride the southwest break
Where surfers ride until they nap
’62 Valiant with a wooden rack
A six foot board and a piece of wax
A chrome key and a tank of gas
No job, no school, and a little cash
Only the Valiant will try to seek
In winter storms and summer heat
The biggest waves, the longest set
From sunrise until the sun has set

Luis Munoz "Vida"

"It is, simply put, one of the best Latin jazz ventures of the year...Brilliantly conceived and beautifully executed, Vida is a vital testimony to Luis Muñoz's artistic genius. Indispensable! **** (4 stars)." Todd S. Jenkins, Downbeat magazine

Poetry
border
after noon the winds apply
the heat of fields into the eyes
of creatures stopping on a rock
is this good or is this not and
should they change their spot
as border copters chop
